Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has already come to a decision on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.
And the news, amongst those hopeful of the Portuguese staying put beyond the summer at least, is no doubt set to ruffle more than a few feathers.
As per a report from Jeremy Cross of The Daily Star, ten Hag, confirmed earlier this week as having agreed a deal to take up the reins at Old Trafford, has confirmed to those in a position of power at the club that Ronaldo does not feature in his plans:
”Ten Hag made it clear to United chiefs that Ronaldo’s age and luxury status means he will not be suited to the style of play and approach he will look to implement moving forward, once he takes charge in June.”
A summer departure for the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner, in turn, is viewed as imminent, with Ronaldo, despite his age, not expected to be short on suitors.

Spurs star eyed
Interestingly, word of ten Hag’s apparent decision when it comes to Ronaldo’s future comes fresh on the back of reports that the Dutchman has already identified one potential addition to his frontline at Old Trafford ahead of next season.
The player in question? Steven Bergwijn.
As per the Daily Mail, ten Hag, after seeing efforts to lure out-of-favour Tottenham wide-man Bergwijn to Ajax this past January come up empty, is ready to reignite his pursuit of his fellow countryman, this time in Manchester.
A £20 million proposal, in turn, has been touted, as United’s incoming headmaster goes about putting an early stamp on the first-team setup at the club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
