Juventus vs Bologna: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

Champions League-chasing Juventus host Bologna in Serie A on Saturday evening.

Defeat to Inter in their last home match finally ensured even the most optimistic Juve fan agreed with Massimiliano Allegri’s long-held assertion that the title is out of reach.

13th-placed Bologna are 15 points clear of the drop and trail Fiorentina in the last European qualification spot by 16 points with just seven games left, occupying the division’s purgatory position.

Here’s all you need to know about a meeting between two teams with drastically contrasting goals for the season’s conclusion.

When is kick off? Saturday 16 April, 17:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Allianz Stadium
TV channel/live stream? BT Sport 3 (UK), Paramount+ (US)
Highlights? BT Sport & Serie A YouTube
Referee? Juan Lucha Sacchi
VAR? Marco Guida

Manuel Locatelli was helped off the pitch against Inter with a bandage around his head but it was a sprain to his knee that has sidelined him since. The boyhood Juventino is expected to be out until mid-May.

Allegri ruled Weston McKennie out for the season at the start of March but the player and manager have recently suggested the US international could feature in the final few Serie A matches of the season.

Federico Chiesa still remains a doubt until the other side of the summer but Alvaro Morata is available once again following his yellow card suspension.

Gary Medel

Gary Medel returned from a head collision with Zlatan Ibrahimovic (which is impressive in itself given the ten-inch height difference) to captain Bologna against Sampdoria last weekend.

However, wingback Lorenzo De Silvestri is a doubt with a hamstring strain while the lesser-used Kingsley Michael is also recovering from a finger injury.

While Juventus bounced back from derby defeat against Inter to come from behind against Cagliari last weekend, Bologna delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season.

In swatting aside Sampdoria, the Rossoblu recorded their highest expected goal (xG) figure of the season (per FBref). A result made all the more impressive after holding title-chasing Milan to a 0-0 draw the week before.

Juve’s title aspirations may have been snuffed out, but they remain in pole position for Champions League qualification in fourth place, a ranking they may well solidify this weekend despite Bologna’s undoubtedly stubborn resolve.

Prediction: Juventus 1-0 Bologna
