Wolves tipped to launch legal action against Arsenal-bound Marquinhos

Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to set into motion legal action against Sao Paulo star Marquinhos, ahead of the youngster’s proposed move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Not to be mistaken for his namesake of Paris Saint-Germain, Marquinhos is a 19-year-old winger currently plying his trade in his home country with Sao Paulo.

The one-time Brazilian youth international has directly contributed to four goals in fifteen appearances across the year to date, albeit with Marquinhos, for some time, having been tipped for a Sao Paulo departure.

This comes with the attacker continuing to drag his feet amid negotiations over a new contract.

In turn, those in a position of power at the Estadio de Morumbi are understood to have come to the decision to cut their losses, and salvage whatever financial return remains possible for their gifted youth product.

The aforementioned Arsenal, ,meanwhile, have long positioned themselves at the front of the queue to take advantage of the situation, with Marquinhos now understood to be on the verge of a cut-price move to the red half of north London.

As alluded to above, though, on Thursday, a fresh twist in the Marquinhos saga has been unveiled online.

The info comes courtesy of Sport Witness, citing Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola.

It is understood that another of the Premier League’s clubs, in the form of Wolves, are in the process of building a legal case against Arsenal’s incoming winger.

This comes amid the suggestion that, before committing to terms with Arsenal, Marquinhos went as far as to put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement to take his talents to Molineux.

Though his Emirates switch is not understood to be under threat of falling through as a result, the Brazilian himself could yet be forced to face up to serious legal consequences.
